perhaps there was a bad Interpretation in the version of Wodpress, but that is thus. One was thus.




The single site that Googles out for "Powered by Wordpress 2.0.5" for me returns the following in the HTML:

[meta name="generator" content="WordPress 2.0.1" /] [!-- leave this
for stats --]

(Angle brackets changed to flat ones by me.)

Perhaps a little more research was warranted?
