I thought that too. So I created a cronjob to login every 5 minutes into 
the home page - to force the stats to be up-to-date. Didn't help - it 
still hangs for ages whenever a human accesses it :-(

Lots of data takes ages to load. SQL sux ;-) (I'm saying that as a 
lead-in for the Sourcefire guys to wow us with how their product does it?)
