[Snort-users] Snort Rules Availability

I have a question about rule availability. The current
version of Snort available for download is 2.8.0.1 and
there is a version 2.8 ruleset available for
subscribers but only a version 2.7 ruleset available
for registered users. 

I realize that there CURRENT rulesets for both
subscriber and registered users but have read several
times to not use CURRENT rulesets on production
systems. 

I also remember reading the first of January that the
subscriber rulesets were available to subscribers only
until January 17 or so. Now I see that it says the
rules are available to subscribers only until March 5,
2008 but still don't see any version 2.8 rules for
registered users. 

What is the specific delay between subscriber and
registered ruleset availability? 

Mike, any word on the Patrick Harper scholarship?
