Hi Sahil,
I'm not sure what you want to do when you say "reading IPv6 headers".
Snort 3.0.0.a1.4 is an early alpha/preview of the Snort 3.0 engine.
It doesn't have a detection engine attached to it in that release and
is just a preview release to let people start seeing some of the
directions we're taking with Snort 3.0.
We are working on a much more comprehensive open source beta which
includes a detection engine that we're hoping to release in the next
few months. Stay tuned!
