Unless you are using Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, XP is only a 32bit OS. Meaning it can't address more than 4Gb of memory without hacks. (The /PAE config) Besides, I don't think that Snort is compiled for Windows for 64 bit. -- Joel Esler joel.esler@sourcefire.com On Dec 28, 2007, at 9:05 PM, Tedi Heriyanto wrote:

Like WinXP cannot see more than 4 GB of memory in the system??AFAIK, the application is not managing the memory by itself but the operating system does. So if you use WinXP then you will not be able to use more than 4GB of memory, no matter whether your application can. Please correct me on this. -- cheers, tedi Blog : http://theriyanto.wordpress.com Website : http://tedi.heriyanto.net You Need More Than Awareness : Stay Alert! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
