At first glance I would guess that you have two snort.conf files..
What does your Snort command line look like?

I defined my Home_Net like this:
var HOME_NET
[192.168.1.0/24,192.168.2.0/24,192.168.3.0/24,192.168.4.0/24]
If i restart snort, i sometimes (not always) get the following error:
ERROR: Undefined variable name: (/etc/snort/snort.conf:44):
eth0_ADDRESS
Fatal Error, Quitting..
If i edit snort.conf i find the following statement, and my old entry
of home_net like above is missing.
var HOME_NET $eth0_ADDRESS
I never do any changes in the snort.conf, but the home_net changes.
I think it's a little bit strange, can you help me?
