[Snort-users] snort 2.6.0 and signals on RHE 3

Hi Folks,
         I've just installed snort on a RHE 3 (I usually use OBSD) and it
appears to be completely ignoring signals.  The only way I can kill the
running process is with -9 and USR1 does not produce any stats.

Any idea what the problem might be or on how to diagnose the problem.

Snort was installed from a tarball (if that makes any difference).
