Try using the CentOS/RHEL guide on the snort.org website. It will walk you through it step by step Patrick S. Harper | CISSP RHCT MCSE www.internetsecurityguru.com Technology is not a panacea. Commonsense, knowledge, and diligence are the costs of a secure environment. -----Original Message----- From: snort-users-admin@lists.sourceforge.net [mailto:snort-users-admin@lists.sourceforge.net] On Behalf Of Shane Presley Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 8:26 AM To: snort-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [Snort-users] Installing on RedHat Hello, I'm getting ready to install SNORT for the first time, and I'll be using a RedHat system (that's my companies standard, so I don't have any other choice). I noticed there are binaries for RedHat Enterprise 3. I can go that route, but I would have preferred RedHat Enterprise 4. Does anyone know if binaries exist for RHEL4, or how easily it compiles? I can easily do RPMs, but I'm new to compiling. I can usually make it work, but get caught up in dependancy hell :) Thanks Shane ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
