Ron, While it was certainly unprofessional of you to make the comments you did. You do not set policy for the list and just because something is posted wrong or multiple times you are in the list to help not criticize the topics. I've been at this for a couple of years now and I certainly do not remember everything. This initially looked like something new in the way it was posted, too me. I found this in our Email from 3 days back and may have not given it the personal attention it deserved, but it was a request for free support. All I needed was a quick answer and I certainly did not get that from you. If you have more comments on this please post them off list. Kindest regards, Michael... Please in the future spend the time to do the research and see if SourceFire has addressed the issue(s) before making statements. By you posting (No mention on Snort.org or in the list.) implies that you have already visited the web site and if so would have send the posting from 10/18/2005 stating this and the resolution. Thanks? -----Original Message----- From: snort-users-admin@lists.sourceforge.net [mailto:snort-users-admin@lists.sourceforge.net] On Behalf Of Michael Steele Sent: Thursday, October 20, 2005 10:04 PM To: snort-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: RE: [Snort-users] Serious Snort Bug Could Lead To Next Slammer Thanks, for the all the replies. This was sent to me and I had no idea or the time to get into it, so I posted it here after a quick search no finding my keyword search. This was a FREE inquiry, had it been a client I would have put the time into it prior to asking in the list. Please remember that one reply would have taken care of this and save some bandwidth. In response to Mr. Jenkins about your comments; Next time keep them to yourself as it was a personal attack and should not be permitted in this list or any other. Plus it had nothing to do with the subject of the topic or anything top do with the list. Always remember, think before posting. If you can contribute, then by all means post. If the topic has already been answered then let it go, unless something else can be added that will contribute. Kindest regards, Michael...
