I was wondering if i have one interface running snort, can i run other sniff 
apps 

(ethereal,ntop,etc) on the same interface?


im assuming it is a one to one relation ship. each sniff app has to have its 
own interface.


Yes, its not a problem, do it all the time.

Its not uncommon for us to have two occurances of snort running, each
monitoring a different nic interface, and still be able to run ethereal
to trace packets. The only real limitation will be balancing processor
and memory utilization with snort running to avoid dropped packets, etc.
In low volume networks, we've never bumped into limits. I don't know
about high volume networks as I've never attempted it.
