I figured it out. I had to create a second mysql account called snort@otherhost.domain.com and set its password and permissions. The reason I couldn't get the command mysql to work was because I had set a password so I needed ot use mysql -p hope this helps someone that may run into this issue. later,jb On 4/27/05, Jason Benway <benwaynet@gmail.com> wrote:
I think I broke my sql user trying to allow access to mysql from a remote server. When I'm at the console and it type > mysql I get an access denied for user root!
