No OS Holy Wars please! I just wanted to ask if anyone is running snort on Gentoo boxes and what your experiences are...good and bad. I currently run a few FreeBSD 4.10 IDSs, however I can't run FreeBSD 5.3 because of some kernel stability issues. I need to start planning ahead in case I have to switch OSs. Any tips/help would be appreciated.
i run snort on gentoo just fine, and as far as stability, its rock solid. no problems what so ever and administration of gentoo in general is excellent.
