| Subject: | [Snort-sigs] Multi-protocol flow/stateful rules? |

Forgive the naive question, but I'm looking at flows for which I'd like to create rules -- in which the stimulus is an attempted DNS A record query and the response is ICMP Unreach, or perhaps an attempted BIND exploit in a DNS response to a PTR query that's the result of an opened SMTP connection inbound. Is this possible?
These responses are interesting in themselves, but the ICMP Unreach case is one in which I'd like to know, in the rule, whether the ICMP packet is indeed a response to an outbound UDP packet, or whether the included offending packet in the ICMP error message was forged.
