[Snort-sigs] Bleeding Snort Howto

Subject: [Snort-sigs] Bleeding Snort Howto

Dayioglu.net has posted a well-written and to the point article on how to use bleeding snort. It's best for those a bit new to snort and bleeding snort.

http://www.dayioglu.net/?q=node/view/82

We're also adding a list of links to related bleeding snort how-to kinds of articles on the bleedingsnort.com site. We get a number of questions privately on how to use and automate the bleeding rules. This should help out there.

If you know of a good article or how to, or want to write one, please send us a link or let us know. Specifically, we could use a piece on how to use oinkmaster and bleeding, written for the newbie, er.. I mean inexperienced snort user.

We're also mulling around the idea of a place to post research on new issues on the bleeding.com site. We want to have a reference in each sig, but often the initial analysis doesn't have a permanent home. We'll make space available for that kind of thing. Let us know if you have material that needs a permanent home.

And thanks everyone for your contributions to bleeding snort. It's definitely going to be a long-term project.

Matt
