Hi,
Did you add the --with-mysql when running configure before
make and make install. If not you might want to try that.
I'm also using the default snort.conf. I just added the needed
Details like user/passwort etc. and just works fine.

hello!
i am using snort 2.2.0 and mysql 3.23.54
i want snort to read from tcpdump's trace file and
log packets into mysql database.
i have got trace file by
#tcpdump -w s.trace
compiled snort with switch mysql and gave the
directory of mysql
in config.log igot
checking for mysql....yes
then i did make and make install
then i changed snort.config
by uncommenting the output database plugin.. and
edited it accordingly..
i am ables to see all 16 rows of the snort database..
including tables for tcphdr , etc..
now
# snort -c snort.conf -r s.trace.
it gives the error
this build of snort is not compiled with mysql
support.
what to do???
