In addition to having the CISSP certification, I have the CCP (certified
computer professional) certification as well--and have kept up with both
cert's re-certification requirements. I also have a MS in Computer
Science, an MBA and a JD (law degree).

I went the CISSP route, but added an MBA concentrated in Digitial
Technology
Management for the business focus.

As a security professional targeting a management position in the
information security area, I am wondering which academic profile (scholar
and major security certifications (CISSP,CISA,CISM)...) is best recognized
in the industry and attributed to most of the successful security managers
at different position levels.
Examples could be (but not limited to):
- MBA + deep technical background
- 1st cycle diploma + High-level certifications and light technical
background etc...
Combinaisons are endless.
We can't argue on the importance of business and technical experience but
I
want to concentrate this discussion on the tangible help that can bring
education in the hiring process.
What would make the balance shift in my favor if there is another
candidate
with similar experience and personality competing for the same position ?
