Hi Rask
I see a lot of Risk Management software like RiskWatch (Riskwatch.com), being offered. I would like to develop something like that, but in my language and making sure it comply with our law. I am considering developing the software using Filemaker Pro. So my question to this group is this, has anyone been involved in developing Risk Management software?
You may want to have a look at http://www.somap.org/ With SOMAP we want to program a Security Management tool/software. Plus we define documents layouts and reports structures which we then want to use to generate reports from within our software. The software/tool is designed to be multiplatform, multilingual and based on COP/GSHB/ISO17799 standards. Configurable to respective local law and requirements/guidelines.
And if so, can you offer advise as to what software to use? Is a good database program like Filemaker Pro a way to go? Is there any such thing as Open Source Risk Management software being developed, software I may use as a starting point?
Yes, we release everything we do under the GPL (or another Open Source licence to be defined for the documentation) and would welcome every helping hand. Please drop me a note if you are interested to learn more about SOMAP. Regards, Adrian
