Position:       Sr. Security Engineer
Location:       Washington DC, District of Columbia, United States
Type:           Permanent P/T

The IT Security Engineer, under the direction of the Director, Information 
Security, will provide network security solutions to ensure the stability, 
performance and security of all corporate data, wireless, and voice network 
services.  This is achieved by planning, designing, installing, supporting, 
securing and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links 
across the organization including Global LANs and WANs.  The Senior Security 
Engineer will assist other departments with developing secure systems and will 
help promote security awareness among firm employees.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
1. Minimum five years experience in a technical role in security engineering, 
including development of both system and network security solutions (e.g., 
firewalls, vulnerability scanning systems, intrusion detection systems) and 
security operations (monitoring, scanning, incident response). 
2. One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCNA, MSCE, GIAC.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work well with a variety of 
people with varying technical skill sets and business knowledge. 
4. Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, 
managers, and technical staff.  
5. Experience in system administration in both Windows and Cisco environments. 
6. Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in 
a fast paced environment
7. College Degree preferred.  Experience may substitute for degree.
8. Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm environment a 
plus.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED 

1. Hands on experience with one or more of the following: ISS; AppScan; Core 
Impact; Retina, QualysGuard, nmap, Nessus, Sourcefire Intrusion Sensor and 
Realtime Network Awareness (RNA), CIS Scoring tools, DOD Rogue Wireless 
Detection Tool or other wireless technologies such as Kismet, NetStumbler, 
Aircrack, AirSnort; Physical security; and Open source tools preferred.
2. Must be familiar with PGP. 
3. Intimate working knowledge of Microsoft products.
