Summary: 
RSA Identity & Access Assurance:  Sales Engineering Enablement 

As a member of the RSA Identity & Access Assurance (IAAG) Sales Engineering 
Enablement team, this Sales Engineer’s responsibilities include a wide 
variety of sales enablement tasks including developing custom multi-product 
demonstrations, rolling out these demonstrations into a virtual demo 
environment and participating directly in complex Proof-of-Concepts at customer 
sites.

Key Activities
•The design, development, documentation, training and roll-out of complex 
multi-product demonstrations highlighting the business value derived from 
RSA’s various identity and access assurance products.
•Enabling such demonstrations to be easily built, customized and delivered 
via a variety of virtualization technologies including VMWare and Surgient. 
•Directly participate in complex Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and Technology 
Validations during sales cycles.   
•As required during a POC, develop custom adapters, product plug-ins and 
other custom code or custom multi-product configurations enabling a targeted 
POC solution.    
•During POCs, participate as an integral part of the sales team helping 
define strategies for successful sales and implementations of a broad range of 
authentication, access control and federation solutions 
•Present and educate RSA sales personnel on both demonstrations and POCs 
techniques enabling the RSA sales team to more effectively sell RSA solutions.
•Provide technical presentations at customer sites, partner field sales 
training events, trade shows, etc.; and authoring technical response to 
RFP’s.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Primary Skills
•A proficient knowledge of all RSA Security products and solutions. 
•Solid programming skills and demonstrated creativity in designing 
solutions in complex customer environments.
•Solid communication skills – both verbal and written.  
•Demonstrate sound technical and business judgments and is recognized as a 
person with excellent analytical skills.
•Build customer trust by demonstrating leadership in defining technical 
and business solutions.
•Collaborate with & guide sales team members on product solutions, 
customer specific milestones, and resolving customer buying objections.
•Provide training on information security, emerging technologies, business 
issues, deployment/integration, & development/programming.
•Provide technical, high-level consultation to the regional sales teams. 
•Capable of working in a variety of technical areas with an established 
expertise in areas that are critical to the success of the sales team.
•Identifies and drives opportunities for technical synergy among RSA 
Security products.
•Contribute to the sales engineering community regarding methodologies and 
specific areas of training

Requirements:
•5-8 years experience as a pre-sales engineer, software engineer or as a 
consultant in a professional services organization
•Excellent knowledge of Enterprise Applications including (web-based 
applications, OS, Networking and Security) 
•Programming background in Java, C++, .NET, etc. 
•Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Shell Scripting, etc.
•Solid understanding of network infrastructure including firewalls, 
routine, name resolution, etc.
•Understanding of basic network services – HTTP, FTP, SSH, SSL, LDAP, 
etc.
•Background in web services (XLM, SOAP) is preferred
•Ability to creatively solve complex problems
•Wide latitude for independent judgment
•Works under minimal supervision and well in a team environment
•Security related certifications preferred (CISSP, etc.)
