Position: Security Architect
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-05-19
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate who wants to advance their
career within a great company. VariQ is searching for an experienced full time
Security Architect, who will be working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) on a long term project.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Roles and Responsibilities
• Firewalls
• IDS/IPS
• Web/FTP proxy
• DNS
• Identity and Access Management
• XML gateways
• Security Event Correlation
• Candidate will be the “go to” person for policies and
configuration direction for security devices
• Security auditing and testing activities, action items, etc.
Requirements
• Excellent written, verbal communication skills
• Minimum 5 years experience in the design and implementation of security
infrastructures
• Active government issued Secret level security clearance
• Rich knowledge in guiding documentation for security implementations at
DoD, NIST, INFOSEC, etc.
• Familiar with Enterprise IT infrastructure security auditing and
testing activities, action items, etc.
• Demonstrated success in the role of system architect on a large
Enterprise IT Infrastructure: Conceived of the “defense in depth”
architecture for one or more large Enterprises
Preferred
• Familiar with Certifications and Accreditation Activities in FBI or DoD
• Familiar with Information Systems Security Managers and what they do in
FBI or DoD installations
• Familiar with Information System Security Officers and what they do in
FBI or DoD installations
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in discipline related to the primary
responsibilities and or equivalent
• Certifications in Security – CISSP, etc.
