The Role  
Background
The SIEM market is undergoing significant and rapid growth, with IDC predicting 
that SIEM licensing revenues are projected to grow from USD380m last year to 
USD873m by 2010. It is for this reason we are expanding the Sales team, given 
that we are increasingly uncovering new opportunities in UK, Europe and ROW 
regions.
Unlike ordinary IT Security technologies, SIEM delivers its value and benefits 
from a Management Information perspective rather than the more typical 
‘enforcement point’ areas. It is for this reason that organisations 
of all sizes are beginning to leverage this technology and the processes that 
surround it in order to help them meet increasing regulatory requirements 
placed upon them at a lower cost to the business. 
Candidate Skills/Background
Predominantly new business generation, so must not suffer from big white 
telephone syndrome or consider that this activity is beneath him/her 
Will have access to all major verticals, not limited to single silo’s. 
Also both public and private sectors. 
Candidate requirements: 
Must know how to sell and follow the cycle through from start to finish 
Must know how to drive sales forward to meet and exceed defined targets 
Must be comfortable selling into SME to Enterprise-sized accounts 
Must have had 3-10 years selling IT and/or IT Security solutions 
Must know how to present and articulate the value propositions. 
Preferable to understand a consultancy-based solution approach – not 
tin-shifters or channel managers 
Must be disciplined as a self-starter given position is ‘home-worker’ 
status initially. 
Will be required to assume responsibility for a growing a number of key vendor 
relationships. 
Will report to the Head of Sales.
