The Role
The system Intrusion Detection System Team Leader (IDSTL) is responsible to the
System Security Manager for maintaining the security of the system in
accordance with the Operational Security Management Plan (OSMP).
The IDSTL must execute these responsibilities in accordance with the OSMP.
The role requires close and regular coordination with the System Security
Manager, the System Administrator,
Skills, knowledge and experience
Essential
Must be a UK national and hold DV security clearance.
At least one years experience of managing IDS teams including enterprise
incident response/handling experience. A thorough understanding of attack
methodology and incident response is assumed as is the attendance on a
commercial ethical hacking course.
At least two years hands-on experience of maintaining commercial network and
host Intrusion Detection Systems with at least three years experience with the
IDS system in use and attendance at an advanced training course on that system.
An in-depth understanding of Windows security events and Microsoft Operations
Manager 2000/2005.
At least two years experience of dealing with computer security.
Desirable
At least two years experience with a commercial enterprise antivirus solution
A demonstrable understanding of current computer virus trends and attacks
vectors is assumed.
A thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL.
System administrator experience.
