Position Summary The Security/Vulnerability Analyst will be responsible for the planning, troubleshooting, implementation, and support of key technical products, procedures, and policies in support of the Network Security Environment. This critical position must provide a full range of 'best practice' information security experience with respect to Microsoft systems, clustering, storage devices, and internet based applications in a high availability environment. Specific areas of accountability will include new product vulnerability / integration testing, troubleshooting and support; development of enterprise vulnerability reporting program, policies and procedures; collaborative development of an enterprise proactive monitoring and management system using a best of breed approach; and procedure regulation compliancy, control and tracking to enhance security practices. This position will require strong troubleshooting skills and collaborative problem resolution efforts to identify, mitigate a nd resolve complex security/system risks, vulnerabilities and business impact situations. Major Responsibilities As a member of the network services team, the Security/Vulnerability Analyst will participate in the overall responsibility for the management of all system, network and security assets in all production facilities including engineering, specification, maintenance, troubleshooting and performance tuning to meet aggressive Business SLA's. The scope of responsibility for this position will include but not limited to a) new product analysis, testing, integration and vulnerability assessment b) development of an enterprise vulnerability reporting program, including policies, procedures and notification methods c) participation in the development of an enterprise proactive monitoring console using a best of breed approach. d) Lead efforts to enhance intrusion detection monitoring and response, vulnerability and risk assessment, information security awareness training, and security upgrade planning and implementation. You will review system development and maintenance initiatives with emphasis on security vulnerabilities, set priorities for security projects based on risk analysis, and prepare budgetary justifications. Qualifications • Must have experience with design, planning and trouble-shooting security/system/network related problems in an enterprise environment with expertise in supporting and /or leading the deployment of high availability application infrastructure. • Must have experience will the design, planning and implementation of proactive monitoring, management and compliance tools such as NetCool, and NetIQ or similar products (i.e. HP OpenView, Tivoli, BMC, Smarts) • Preferred experience will include the build out, planning and implementation of large scale data center preferably acting as or developed in a high availability and disaster recovery manner. • Proven systems management, design and implementation experience in a medium to large scale environment with delivery expertise in systems/infrastructure supporting high transactional applications preferably internally hosted. • Proven experience in leading large to small technical projects with demonstrated oral and written ability to communicate with team members. Must know when to ask for assistance, and when to give assistance. • Experience managing in-sourced and out-sourced vendor engagements to deliver quality service is required. • Must be approachable, teachable, a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding their experience in a highly evolving security focused environment. • Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary to minimized business interruption during planned or unplanned security system modifications. • Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience and Education: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; and/or requisite job experience. • 5+ years of experience in a systems, network and/or security engineering role or equivalent with proven strong troubleshooting experience in a medium to large enterprise environment • Must have experience in a large scale environment with a minimum of 2 major data centers, internal web hosting and portal and/ or high transactional customer applications. • Experience within healthcare and familiarity with the health care/managed care data model is a plus.
