This involves: * Analyzing, assimilating, and evaluating information relating to computer/network security and information assurance. * Evaluating policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and objectives and applying them for the protection of information and information technology systems. * Identifying and analyzing extremely complex and security sensitive systems using advanced instrumentation, methods, procedures, and processes. * Exercising judgment in determining criteria, metrics, and techniques to be used, and manner of presenting results in all phases of analysis. * Reviewing policy, planning and technical documents and recommending formal substantive changes to originating organizations from throughout the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. * Organizing, developing and presenting briefings, written summaries, and written reports which may incorporate narrative, tabular and graphic elements. * Participate as a system security/information assurance subject matter expert in support of functional interoperability assessment teams and engineering interface design teams to identify and assess computer /network security and make recommendations concerning overall security accreditation readiness and compliance with information assurance guidance and best practices. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- Minimum of 6 years Information Assurance experience with a Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional work experience. Experience must include familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, routers, vulnerability assessment systems, sniffers, protocol analyzers and their application and implementation to achieve a secure computing environment. Strong conceptual and analytical skills, to include the ability to assess system and network security configurations in order to determine suitability for use, and develop recommendations on how to improve overall security and achieve compliance with policy guidelines. Strong written skills and dexterity using Microsoft Office products. Operating System, Computer Networking or equivalent certifications Preferred Qualifications: 1. Significant expertise in the technical and operational aspects of computer security and information assurance. 2. Military experience in information assurance, computer security, and computer network defense. 3. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. 4. Experience applying the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP). 5. Basic computer security penetration testing skills. 6. Current CISSP and Security+ certifications.
