Position: Information Assurance Analyst
Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND TASKS:
Job Description: Under close supervision, assists with information system
administration for a 24x7x365 SOC mission for USCIS, prepares security event
notification reports and presents recommendations to the IT Security Specialist
senior analyst for resolution. Possesses basic familiarity with information
security procedures and some knowledge of TCP/IP

Job Requirements
CRITICAL SKILLS: In-depth knowledge of Bindview and/or CISCO Firewall and or
IPS/MARS
Ability to use vendor neutral security products such as Sourcefire IDS, Dragon
IDS, SNORT and other security related programs and applications
A good thorough knowledge of TCP/IP and intrusion detection. Ability to define
security related events. Has a strong background in Information Assurance (IA)
and Information Security (InfoSec)
Assesses information network threats such as computer viruses and takes
customer’s incoming calls from remote sites and provides resolution and
customer support to the client
Excellent communications skills (verbal and written). Provide access
control/access enabled technology
Creates, assigns and updates cases based on events detected by IDS or reported
by customers located on-site or at remote sites. May be assigned specific cases
for review and should be able to make an initial assessment and recommendations
to the Senior Analyst
Monitors USCIS SOC network traffic and creates cases by direction from Senior
Analyst
Works all assigned cases and provides senior analyst and shift lead periodic
updates of all open cases
Updates the shift activity report and responds to all e-mail reported security
events before the close of the shift
Desired Experience: At least 4 + years of Security Operations Center (SOC)
Technical Skills:
· Bindview and/or CISCO Firewall and/or IPS/MARS
· CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional),
· ITIL Certified and or able to obtain ITIL Foundations
Certifications within the next 12 months
· Master UNIX Administration
· Additional security certifications
· Application Software: ISS Real Secure Workgroup Manager, ISS
Real Secure Site Protector, ISS Network Sensor, ISS Real Secure; ISS Internet
Scanner, Harris STAT scanner, Norton Anti-virus, McAfee anti-virus, McAfee E
Policy Orchestrator
· Diagnostic Software: McAfee Anti Virus; First Aid; Internet
Security Scanner; Novell Lanalyser for Windows; Novell Ethernet Lanalyser; NCC
Token Ring lanalyser; Network Associates (Network General) Sniffer lanalyser
Non-Technical Skills: Excellent teamwork skills; written and oral
communication skills.
