iPhone Embedded Systems Engineer
The Kernel Technologies team within Apple's CoreOS organization is looking for
an exceptional engineer to work on state-of-the art kernel technology for
Embedded Mac OS X. Working on a core technology for Mac OS X you will have the
opportunity to have a major impact on the design and implementation of Apple's
consumer operating systems products. Our environment fosters product
innovation, rapid product iteration, and a liberating amount of autonomy.
Responsibilities
* Work with a highly skilled engineering team in the design and implementation
of kernel technologies
* Drive product features and functional/industry specifications
* Kernel functional, system, load/stress, and performance analysis
* Maintenance of existing kernel subsystems and drivers for iPhone and Embedded
systems
* Creation of drivers for new peripheral devices for Embedded systems
* Represent the team in industry events, technical and product meetings
* Work with cross functional teams to support product requirements for iPhone
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Experience:
* A genuine passion for kernel technology
* Previous experience in kernel engineering
* Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
* Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
* Excellent collaborative skills
* Outstanding written and verbal communication
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience/skills
Additional Success Factors:
* Mac OS X exposure (end user, administrator, developer)
* Experience with other operating system kernels (Linux, BSD, UNIX, Windows)
* Experience with common embedded hardware architectures (ARM, PPC, MIPS)
