Position: Application Security Engineer

Application Security Engineer
Indymac Bank, operating as a hybrid thrift mortgage banker, provides cost
efficient financing for acquisition, development and improvement of single
family homes. Indymac provides financing secured by single family homes and
other banking products to facilitate consumers’ financial goals. The
Company has and continues to make significant investments in both technology
and non-technology areas of the Company to support its growth and strategic
objectives.
Position description
This position will reside in the Enterprise Security and Privacy department,
specifically on the Enterprise Information Security team.
Responsibilities:
*Develop and implement security coding program and infrastructure to protect
the IMB network
*Conduct sophisticated security reviews of core infrastructure
*Help define overall security strategy and procedure
*Evaluate the impact of current security advisories and publications
*Consult, advise and guide the security coding process
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
* BS, MS in Computer Science or equivalent
* Previous experience in security coding and related priniciples required
* Knowledge of TriCipher or similar application required
* Bank or regulatory experience preferred
* Knowledge of Java, C++, .Net, ASP and other relevant programming languages
* Expertise in at least three of the following areas: Network-based attacks and
mitigation,
System-level attacks and mitigation,
Network-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, IPsec, 802.1x), Operating system
internals and interfaces/protocols
* Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, Shell) and expertise with
robust programming
* Self-directed mentality with excellent leadership and facilitation skills
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
