Position: Security Engineer
Location: Boca Raton, Florida, United States
Type: Contract
Closing Date: 2008-03-28
The Network Security Engineer will provide leadership to the organization by
providing network security solutions to ensure the stability, performance and
security of all corporate data, wireless, and voice network services. This is
achieved by leading the efforts to plan, design, install, support, secure and
optimize all network hardware, software, and communication links across the
organization including corporate LANs and WANs.
Responsibilities:
*Installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance of all Network Security
Infrastructure such as Firewalls, IPS/IPS systems, Log Servers, etc.
*Maintenance of the LAN and WAN environments and related equipment such as
routers, switches, etc.
*Provide Subject Matter Expertise on the areas of Network Security, Security
Methodology and Compliance (as it relates to network security.)
*Determines and implements best practices for network and security operations.
*Ensures that network related policies and security procedures are enforced.
*Critical team member in evaluating and implementing new services and
technologies.
*Teams with staff members in providing effective solutions to current and
future technology initiatives.
*Maintain all documentation, diagrams and spreadsheets for the corporate
network environment to current levels.
*Provides support services and troubleshoots network security related problems.
*"7x24" availability during on-call duties.
*Coordinates with IT staff, vendors and manufacturers to resolve issues.
*Evaluation from management on overall service quality and effectiveness in use
of project resources.
*Feedback from key customers or project representatives on a way in which the
project and services were conducted.
*Customer satisfaction measures.
*Delivery of services within negotiated service levels.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills Needed:
*Current Experience in planning, deployment and management of Network Security
Infrastructure.
*Current Experience in the implementation and maintenance of Firewalls and
Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems.
*Current Experience in data network administration including design,
maintenance and security
in a Corporate IT environment.
*Current experience with network topologies such as: ISDN, Frame Relay, T1, T3,
DS3, ATM, OC-3/48 and dark fiber.
*Current Experience with TCP/IP, all routing technologies, VPN, RAS, VOIP, and
wireless technologies.
* Current Experience with wireless network security and wireless scanning tools.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work well with a variety of
people with varying technical skill sets and business knowledge.
*Writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, managers,
and technical staff.
*Oversee efficient operational delivery of third party service providers.
Knowledge and Experience Needed:
*2-5 years of demonstrated experience in management and deployment of
Checkpoint on Nokia Firewalls, Cisco Pix Firewalls, ISS IDS/IPS and Tripwire
infrastructure.
*2-5 years of proven experience in data network management using Foundry,
Nortel or Cisco switches and routers.
Education and Certifications:
*BA or AS in Computer Science or Information Technology required.
*Security certifications in CISSP, SANS, etc. (a Plus)
*Cisco Certifications CCNA, CCIE (a Plus)
*Checkpoint Certifications CCSPA, CCSA, CCSE (a Plus)
