Position: Penetration Engineer
Location: Redmond, Washington, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Does discovering a previously unknown security bug that allows you take over
someone's computer excite you? Are you passionate about helping build secure
software? As a part of the Microsoft Office Trustworthy Computing Security Test
team you will be responsible for helping Office understand security testing
techniques, reviewing threat models to identify design flaws, and performing
penetration testing. Day-to-day work will include consulting with testers on
Office product teams about their test plans and specific test cases, reviewing
the design of Office features, and learning about and attempting new attacks
against Office.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Basic Requirements:
- BS/ MS degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 2+ years of programming/debugging experience in C, C++, or C#
- 2+ years of security testing (application level penetration testing) or
related experience
Preferred:
- Knowledge of product development and test processes
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience writing, running, and investigating results from file and network
fuzzers.
- Understanding of x86 assembly to assess exploitability of crashes
- Ability to identify security defects through both black box testing and code
review
- Ability to effectively influence and work cross-discipline and cross-group
