Job description:
Field Engineering Manager
Field Engineering Manager will provide planning, management, and engineering
support for field activities including initial deployment, post-sales support
and pre-sales support for this Homeland Security Company; in addition, the
individual will participate in Integration & Test as necessary. This individual
may manage a team of field engineers and will be responsible for field test
plan development and execution.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Manage one of the Field Engineering teams. The individual will need to balance
support for multiple simultaneous projects and Business Development efforts.
Staff the Field Engineering team including interviewing, salary negotiation and
hiring. In addition, this individual will be expected to interface with and
manage non-Client labor (including union labor) during the field installation
phases of projects.
Hands-on involvement in all aspects of field activities including installation,
configuration, training and troubleshooting; developing field test and customer
acceptance test plans, supporting the execution of field tests.
In addition, the individual will support the Integration & Test team when not
in the field. In this role, the responsibilities include developing test cases
and executing tests during System Integration and Test.
Perform preparation and management of schedules, cost estimating, and budgets.
Perform vendor and customer interactions relating to customer integration and
test functions.
Strong background in system integration and deployment, required.
Must possess strong leadership qualities and excellent verbal and written
communications.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge:
** BS required, MS desired
** IEEE 829, ISO 9001 desired
Experience:
** Minimum 3 years management experience
** Minimum 5 years experience with deployment, pre- and post-sales support of
large systems, required
** Experience with DHS or DOD projects, highly desirable
** Experience with Integrated Product Teams, desired
** Experience with cameras, VMD, GSR or other physical intrusion technologies a
plus
Skills / Aptitudes:
** Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
WORKING CONDITIONS
** May be required to travel domestically or internationally to support
customer activities.
