Position: Application Security Engineer
Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-03-22
You are a Senior Software Developer with excellent communications and
presentation skills. You are the primary technical link to our customers,
responsible for providing feedback to help drive the direction of the
company’s products, services and solution offerings.
You will be preparing high-level designs, developing software and providing
technical services to address specific customer requirements. Delivering
training and technical support during critical phases of customer product
development.
Additionally, you will work with customer services group; the sales and
business development team to plan, design, project manage, develop and/or
deliver solutions and/or consulting to our customers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Good communication in English, both oral and written (experience
delivering/writing presentations, proposals and training).
• Recent development experience with C, with a minimum of 5 years
programming (C++, assembly and Java are an asset).
• Recent experience in one or more of the following development
environments:
- UNIX or Windows hosted development for a RTOS or Embedded OS (eg. VxWorks,
Nucleus, WinCE etc)
- Embedded Linux (on MIPS, ARM or PPC)
- Windows XP/Vista Audio/Video Applications (eg. Format SDK, DirectShow,
Windows Media 11)
- Linux Audio/Video Applications (eg. Gstreamer, mplayer etc.)
• Maturity and experience dictating at least 8 years in the workforce.
• A detailed and technical orientation.
• Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time.
Desirable qualifications:
• Experience in project planning and/or first level management role.
• Security knowledge of cryptography (symmetric and public key), and/or
reverse engineering, hacking, digital rights management (DRM), conditional
access systems (CAS), and copy protection.
• Knowledge of security application design and implementation practices.
