Position: Security Consultant
Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Blue Shield of CA is seeking multiple Information Security Professionals
to provide technical security engineering skills to support the overall
operational security goals of Blue Shield of California by ensuring regulatory
compliance and the safeguarding of the corporation’s reputation through
the assurance of the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate
and personally sensitive information.
Responsibilities
Implement changes to production, development, stage and test environments to
allow required application access. Involves hands on analysis of systems and
their configuration.
Monitor and configure IDS and IPS systems as well as SEMs.
Maintain security applications and systems such as Secure Email, Anti-virus,
anti-SPAM etc.
Analyze existing systems, applications and architectures for security risks and
vulnerabilities.
Provide security consulting services to projects and other teams in the
operational aspects of security issues.
Perform Incident Response activities and forensic analysis of security
breaches.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 12 years minimum experience in
related field (MS in Computer Science preferred)
CISSP, CISA, CISM Certification
Superior analytical and problem solving skills
Superior computer skills to access data and information and to test systems
changes.
Superior knowledge of security concepts and principles, TCP/IP, UNIX, Windows
servers, IDS/IPS systems, Incident Response processes, Computer Forensics,
Penetration Testing, security log analysis
Preferred:
CCNA Certification
Extensive experience in managing security engineers in a complex environment.
Extensive experience in managing Incident Response teams.
Good project management and priority setting skills.
Effective presentation skills.
Excellent human relations and verbal/written communication skills.
Effective negotiation skills.
