Position: Security Engineer
Location: Los Angeles Area, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and

This is a technology-focused position with the essential goal of protecting the
confidentiality, integrity and availability of WesCorp’s information
systems and data.
Essential functions include:
- Planning, designing, and implementing network security solutions, including
network/application firewalls, content filtering devices, intrusion detection,
VPNs, and vulnerability scanning.
- Optimizing and troubleshooting the network for security, speed, and
availability.
- Building and expanding the monitoring capabilities at the network, OS, and
application layer by customizing Security Information Management (SIM) tools.
- Drafting accreditation support documentation and conducting cross-training as
needed.
- Conducting periodic security requirements analysis and security audits and
reviews as needed.
- Testing new and existing implementations for vulnerabilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including static and dynamic routing,
switching, sniffers, subnetting, and troubleshooting all of the above.
- Direct experience with hands-on firewall administration, configuration, and
deployment (Check Point, Juniper, Linux/IPChains).
- Hands-on expertise with Intrusion Detection/Prevention tools (Snort, ISS,
Symantec, NetIQ).
- Experience configuring vulnerability assessment tools and interpreting
results (Qualys, eEye, Nessus, AppScan, Webinspect).
- Windows Server and Unix/Linux operating system experience, including system
hardening and configuration.
- Computer Science or Information Systems degree with an undergraduate focus on
networking/security OR a minimum of three years of network-centric IT
experience.
- Programming experience with C, perl, and shell scripting is a plus.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or SANS
Global Incident Analysis Center (GIAC/GCFW) Security Certifications are a plus.
