Position: Security Engineer
Location: Schaumburg, Illinois, United States

The Motorola Security Operations Center is currently seeking an individual with
strong security background to join a team of professionals delivering quality
IT security services to a variety of top-tier international clients. We are a
Fortune 100 company with sales over US$41 billion in 2006, a global leader in
communications technologies across many business lines. Our Security Operations
Center (SOC) provides 24x7x365 security support for our customers.
The Security Engineer on our Security Projects team is responsible for a wide
range of project-oriented security tasks including defining and improving
procedures, customizing our security monitoring software to adapt to daily
changes, creating and delivering training to our Monitoring and Analysis team,
and generally improving the effectiveness of our SOC. This specific opportunity
will involve establishing wireless security monitoring within the SOC.
The members of the Security projects group must have the ability to act
independently of management and possess critical decision making skills.
Off-hour work or scheduling may be required of anyone in this role.
The primary focus of the person selected in this role will be the oversight of
wireless IDS and firewall monitoring
JOB REQUIREMENTS

An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Experience with implementation or monitoring of wireless networks
- Experience with firewall log analysis
- Familiar with one or more IDS and firewall products
- Strong Analytical skills
- 2 to 5 years of full-time hands-on information security experience
- Strong understanding of networking (tcp/ip/udp/icmp)
- Excellent report writing skills
- Project management experience
- Proficient with multiple operating systems
- Proficient with one or more scripting languages
- Experience coordinating incident response efforts
- A bachelors degree, preferably in an engineering or IT related program
- Security certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, Security+
**NOTE** Candidate must be a United States citizen or a Naturalized Citizen of
the United States. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security
investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive
and classified information.
