Position: Security Engineer
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Type: Contract
Closing Date: 2008-02-16
Patch Management Engineer
The individual will be responsible for the full patching process for all
Windows-based servers in the environment, to include: submission for testing,
patch deployment/install, tracking and status reporting. These responsibilities
will also include the tracking/reporting of patches on UNIX servers. The
primary patch deployment tool for Windows patch deployment and reporting is the
Altiris Notification Server and Console. Job responsibilities will include:
training team members on the Altiris based solutions, creating policies and
collections, reporting, software license tracking and requirements development.
This individual will also research Microsoft security vulnerabilities and
third party software security updates.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Four or more years experience with Patch Management
Experience/familiarity with SMS 2003, SUS, WUS, ITMU, DSUW, and MBSA.
Experience with software delivery via Altiris Notification Server
Experience with Altiris Notification Server 6.0 and the 6.5 Notification server
console
Ability to create Altiris collections and policies based off functional
requirements
Windows 2003 systems administration
Familiarity with Windows AD, Group Policy Objects and security settings
Team player and able to effectively/professionally communicate with the client.
Excellent writing and documentation skills
Minimum of 10-years experience in Data Center operations and technical support
activities.
Skills, Education and Experience:
Position requires a technology-related Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of
related experience OR equivalent experience and training.
MCSE 2003 certification.
Additional Skills:
MUST BE a United States citizen.
MUST BE clearable to Secret clearance or better.
