Position:       Sr. Security Engineer
Location:       Brooklyn (Metrotech), New York, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

IT Security Event and Incident Handler
Salary Range to $115,000 Commensurate with Experience
Excellent Benefits Package
Brooklyn, NY (Metrotech)  
 
- Oversee auditing traffic across the City’s information networks and 
systems and will work with agencies to correct security and configuration 
problems noted; develop a security event management program and perform 
analysis of log data and security violation reports using Mazu Profiler, 
Netforensics and other security information management tools; 

- Coordination of alerts sent by our outsourced security operations center and 
other related tasks as necessary to the operation of the team.
  
- Perform agency outreach to facilitate use of security tools and vulnerability 
assessment tools such as Qualsguard and provides guidance to other agencies 
related to incident handling.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
SKILLS:
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in managing IT systems, 
networks and/or security. 
 
- Experience with network-management, monitoring, or security tools including 
security event management systems and vulnerability scanners preferred.  

- Understanding of TCP/IP and security architecture required;
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.  
- Experience preparing effective written reports for management.

REQUIREMENTS:
You must have at least one of the following certifications:  
- CISSP
- CompTIA Security+     

AND a BA/BS and 2 years of full-time experience in WAN planning, design or 
related area.
