Position: Security Architect
Location: London (with UK & overseas travel), , United Kingdom
Type: Permanent F/T

Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant (Grade 7 – 9), Enforcement
and Security Division
Location: London initially. Travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas
• Design and install IT systems - cabling through to operating systems
and applications (e.g. email)
• Advise customers on the procurement, installation and upgrade of IT
systems and document recommendations in consultancy reports
• External Interfaces: Existing and potential Customers and Third Party
Suppliers (as required)
• Internal Interfaces: Project Manager, Sales Teams and Technical
Consultants
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Security Clearance: SC
Must be able and willing to work at high level (consultancy) and detailed level
(hands-on)
• System design: Servers, workstations, operating system, Active
Directory, policies, SMS, office automation, email, etc
• Infrastructure design, including Cabling, switches and routers,
servers, storage (SAN), LANs, WANs, VLANs, Internet, etc
• Costing and procuring system and infrastructure components
• IT system and infrastructure installation, configuration and migration
• IT system and infrastructure operation (performance monitoring, backup
regimes, anti-virus, domain administration, etc)
• IT system and infrastructure trouble-shooting (e.g. performance
bottlenecks, configuration faults)
• Security vulnerability assessment and implementation
• Be effective and persuasive in presenting technical problems and
solutions, orally and in writing
• Able to produce accurate and informative technical documentation
• Able to contribute to persuasive sales proposals
• Be able to provide technical leadership to small teams
• Hold a valid UK driving licence
Mandatory Skills:
• Windows 2000, 2003 and XP
• Active Directory
• SMS 2 or 3
• Microsoft Exchange 2003
• LAN and WAN Implementation/ Configuration/Administration including
switch/router/firewall, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
• Experience of working in UK central government sector
• MS Office 2000/2003
Advantageous
• Experience of working with MoD
• Exposure to Defence Information Infrastructure (DII)
• Familiarity with operating system lockdown in a secure environment e.g.
DIAN, HP Protect, Microsoft Security Extensions
• Understanding MOD system management and engineering practices e.g.
CIDA, JSP480, JSP440
• ITIL certification
• Understanding of PRINCE 2
• Unix/Linux
Salary: £55 to £65,000.00 + car allowance £6,600.00
