Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: McLean, Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-12-28
Manage major IT Security projects of high complexity. Assist with the planning
and organizing of departmental project plans and schedules. Design, develop,
implement, and test complex network security systems. Conduct risk analysis
for components/applications that would impact the security of the network
infrastructure. Lead a group of security analysts and provide supervisory
coverage in the absence of the manager. Mentor and train network security
engineers as needed. Job requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of
education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be
acquired; at least five years hands on experience with firewall administration,
IDS administration and network operational support; project management
experience with large/complex security initiatives.

Job Duties:
Position requires a person with 5+ years experience who is self-motivated, team
player and a detail oriented engineer that will produce results from a
high-level problem statement. Position requires excellent written and verbal
communication skills along with technical project management experience.
Experience with various security products and offerings, end-to-end security
architecture, security incident logs and analysis, TCP/IP packet and traffic
analysis using various tools, IT general controls and processes. Advanced
knowledge and hands-on experience in networking (TCP/IP) protocols/security,
Checkpoint firewalls, F5 Network Products, Juniper IDS, Bluecoat Proxy
services, Vulnerability assessment tools, and analytical skills. Good
understanding of basic incident handling procedures, Responsible for day-to-day
network security administration. Cisco Routers/Switches and Unix/Linux system
administration experience is a plus;
Successful candidate must also have experience in managing vendor relationships
and be able to support a 24x7 on-call rotation several times a year.
$90-100K annual, bonus eligible

CISSP, GIAC, Cisco. Juniper, Checkpoint, Bluecoat and F5 certifications.
Experience with Information/Network Security best practices, Auditing and
Security Standards and documentation.
