Position: Database Security Architect
Location: Suffolk, Virginia, United States
Type: Permanent P/T
Closing Date: 2007-12-29
We are seeking a Database Administrator/Database Analyst with 2-3 years
experience using MySql or SQL2000 to work in Suffolk, VA.
Candidates considered must be a US Citizen and hold an Active Secret Clearance
Under general direction, administers database organizations, standards,
controls, procedures, and documentation.
Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a
database environment
Assists applications development staff and users on data base solutions to
business problems, data architectures, data base management system facilities
and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases
Implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods, access
time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization,
protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, and integration of systems
through database design. Maintains expertise in use of automated tools for
database design and implementation
Maintains database dictionaries. Maintains and documents JCL, shell scripts and
batch processes. Ensures that documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Develops and applies procedures for periodic database backup
Requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Management Information Systems
or related field) or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will be responsible for database administration to include providing/supporting:
a) Database application maintenance and code patches
b) Directory services administration
c) Database security administration
d) Storage management
e) Data backups
f) Data replication
g) Data clustering
h) SharePoint Portal server database and application integration
Must have strong understanding of relational databases, entity relationships,
architecture/data schemas. Must have strong background in:
a) Microsoft Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista, SharePoint Portal Server, Microsoft
SQL and MySQL, and Oracle;
b) Object oriented database development and working familiarity with Microsoft
.NET development. Must have appropriate certification for Oracle, MySql, and
SQL to include Microsoft certified SQL administrator. Familiarity with
IIS/Tomcat/Apache and Java, Java Script, and ASP a plus. ONA operation and
administration (training/certification will be provided by J9). Requires
bachelor's degree or equivalent and two to four years of related experience.
