SDET Consultant
Position Location: Northern or Southern California, Washington State, Oregon,
Washington DC
Position Type: Full-time Employee
Reports to: Project Manager or Lead SDET
Cigital engages with clients in the application of our software or process
improvement methodologies, the Consultant is responsible for assisting with the
execution and delivery of planned project deliverables and milestones that aid
Cigital's clients in learning, understanding, and applying software or process
improvement methodologies. The Consultant typically has task responsibility
within one project and develops the capability to perform tasks within one or
more stages of the Cigital methodologies. The Consultant continuously learns
and expands his/her technical competence. He/she is also expected to support
marketing efforts and identify follow-on work. He/she works independently with
a weekly project review.
Responsibilities
• Designs and executes moderately complex test cases and summarizes the
results of a test run
• Performs activities related to full lifecycle software development and
testing
• Documents and communicates software defects
• Works as a consulting team member
Requirements
• 2 years of professional experience enhancing/developing and
unit-testing software
• Experience executing test cases– both automated and manual
• Ability to learn to author test plans and cases, conduct security and
stress tests, and debug at source level after identifying, investigating, and
prioritizing bugs
B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field
• Minimum 1 year of experience developing Microsoft technologies in the
.NET framework: C# (required), ASP.NET (required), SQL (required), Biztalk
(preferred), MOSS (preferred).
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation and conflict management
• Must be able to work at least 45 hours per week.
Consulting skills
• Ability to interface with clients, utilizing consulting and negotiating
skills
• Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently, meet schedules
and delivery timelines, and to move swiftly from concepts and theory to action
Team-oriented skills
• Ability to collaborate with project team members, take direction from
the project lead and execute tasks consistently
Project Management
• Awareness of end-to-end project management life-cycle including
planning, execution and closeout
Communication
• Written communication skills for use in preparing formal documentation,
Statements of Work, proposals, white papers, and case studies
• Verbal skills that include the ability to clearly articulate thoughts
and to deliver presentation and training to all levels of management
• Ability to persuade
Demeanor
• Enthusiasm and commitment along with professional interpersonal skills
and an entrepreneurial drive
• Willingness to travel
