Position: VP / Dir / Mgr engineering
Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
Type: Permanent F/T

Position Title: Director of Software Development/Architecture, reporting to
VP, Engineering.
Our client is a highly successful network security management company, with
approximately 70 employees located in both the United States and Canada. They
are currently recruiting for a Director of Software Development/Architecture to
join their management team, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
In this highly technical environment, you will provide exceptional leadership,
while managing software development teams in meeting long-range goals and
objectives, for this leader in network security software.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and directing development teams, including setting priorities for
work to be completed
- Improving business processes and supporting critical business strategies by
directing the development, implementation and maintenance of software products
- Project management
- High-level technical presentations to management
- Researching, writing and leading technical proposals, requiring a high level
of specific technical expertise
- Developing cost estimates, staff requirements, work plans, time schedules and
creating work assignments to meet release objectives
- Accurately estimating all phases of software development
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience required to be successful in this role includes:
- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in enterprise architectural development
- Minimum 8 years in a management role
- Strong and proven experience in developing and managing teams of Developers
in an enterprise Linux/Unix environment
- Java, C/C++
- In-depth knowledge of multiple development methodologies
- Networking/Security experience
