Position:       Technical Support Engineer
Location:       Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
Type:           Permanent F/T

Our client is a highly successful network security management company, with 
approximately 70 employees located in both the United States and Canada.  

With an increase in World Wide customer deployments, they are currently 
recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer (Linux/UNIX) to join Customer 
Solutions Team.  Position can be based in either Fredericton or Saint John, New 
Brunswick, Canada.

As a Technical Support Engineer (Linux/Unix) you will primarily be responsible 
for providing solution designs, implementations and support services for their 
networking security solutions across the world! Some travel required.
Responsibilities include:

- Communicating with customers to identify problems, communicate progress and 
resolution while maintaining a high sense of urgency
- Technical engineering support to resolve customer issues by performing issue 
diagnostics, performance optimization, security incident analysis, 
solution/partner recommendation and product knowledge transfer
- Working with the Customer Account Team to ensure total customer satisfaction 
by representing the customers needs and requirements to product management and 
engineering






JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Required for this position:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong Linux/Unix experience with in-depth knowledge of the OS in relation to 
Enterprise networks and/or security
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise network infrastructure implementation 
and support including routers, switches, firewalls, network services and NMS
- Experience troubleshooting Java based applications deployed in production 
environments at an Enterprise level
- Familiarity with security products and protocols as well as a solid 
understanding of TCP/IP including routed and routing protocols
- Previous customer facing support experience and a strong desire to work with 
customers is mandatory
