Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Type: Permanent F/T

Responsiblities:
Background:
RealTime Platform Integration (RPI) is a multi-disciplinary team of
professionals dedicated to ensuring a stable, high performance technology
platform for our customer’s installations of Telvent’s SCADA
products. The team is formed of a group of specialists in a variety of
technology fields who provide support and guidance to customer-focused Systems
Technologists. The Security Specialist provides the depth of security expertise
required by RPI.
Position Summary & Major Responsibilities:
The Security Specialist will:
· Ensure that Product installations conform to both Telvent and customer
security standards.
· Support Security efforts within other Telvent teams such as Sales,
Research Technology and Development (RTD), Educational Services, and Customer
Service.
· Consult with customers on security planning, and provide security
architecture risk analysis, strategies and tactics for network and user
security.
· Keep abreast of trends and developments in the security and networking
industries and integrate into procedures.
· Provide third tier support via pager as part of a rotating on-call
schedule.
· Actively recommend changes to establish methods and procedures,
suggest alternative solutions and methods to improve quality and increase
productivity.
In addition, the Security Specialist will possess the following attributes:
· Strong customer relationship and consulting skills with superior
communication skills: speaking, listening and writing.
· Demonstrate integrity in dealing with information and issues of a
confidential or sensitive nature.
· Ability to lead teams with minimal supervision.
· Solid time management and prioritization skills
· Support, coach, train, and mentor RPI members in security issues
throughout the project life cycle.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience Preferred:
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related
discipline with 3+ years related post-secondary experience, or a Technology
Diploma in Networking or System Administration with 5+ years related post
secondary experience.
· Industry security certifications in progress, or a willingness and
aptitude towards achieving them (e.g. GSEC, CCNA, A+ Networking, SSCP, and/or
MCSA+ Security)
· Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
· Knowledge of networking and security hardware (firewalls, and
optionally intrusion detection and/or intrusion prevention devices)
· Must have a valid passport and be capable of traveling into the United
States
· Must be able to obtain US State Department / Department of Homeland
Security Clearance
· International and domestic travel is required.
