Position: Security Consultant
Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-12-08
Award winning, fast growing security services company looking for a Senior
Security Consultant with strong experience in information security, and the
ability to travel up to 80%. This individual will be responsible for assessing
a wide variety of technical, administrative and physical controls. Ideally,
the candidate should have an IT infrastructure or operations security
background with detailed and deep technical skills. Senior Security Consultants
will also be responsible for direct reports, therefore strong management and
leadership skills are essential. Senior Security Consultants are expected to
provide oversight and direction, as well as mentoring for their direct reports.
You will also be required to stay current on industry developments and trends,
methodologies, and tools. Senior Consultants will occasionally be required to
assist with pre-sales support in service specific areas where you have deep
expertise. You will be required to and manage multiple projects
across different clients - assuming a variety of roles, including project
manager, technical lead, and network or application security engineer.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Three to six years of information technology experience required.
Desired experience should include a foundation in IT security and controls.
• Hands-on experience with performing IT risk assessments, information
security consulting, incident handling and IT audits are most beneficial.
• Technical or professional certifications, such as CISA or CISSP, are
highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in computer science or
information systems.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a
proven track record of interacting effectively with management, as well as
end-users and technology professionals.
Experience in some or all of the following regulations or standards:
o NCUA
o GLBA
o HIPAA
o Sarbanes Oxley
o NERC/CIP
o ISO 17799/27001
o PCI DSS
Candidate should be able to demonstrate and understanding of specific IT
security technologies and processes:
o IP Network architecture and technology, protocols, routing
o At least the basics of Web Application framework: ASP, .Net, PHP, JSP
and CGI
o Data Management; Sybase; MS SQL Server; Storage Area Networks
o Firewalls; configuration and rule maintenance
o Remote access facilities; VPN, RAS, thin-client
o Vulnerability and general security analysis tools; e g. nmap, Nessus,
Ethereal, Nikto, GFI
o Penetration testing techniques and counter measures.
Operational Experience of following technologies is highly desirable
o Microsoft: XP, 2003, 2000, IIS
o Unix; Solaris and Linux variants
o Cryptography and PKI: algorithms, applicability and strength, key
management
o Directory services; LDAP, MS AD
o 802.11 wireless
Candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills;
• Strong project management skills
• Strong networking and negotiating skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, manage their own
time, and their reports, effectively, and require minimal supervision in the
execution of projects
• Ability to satisfy and exceed client expectations.
• Strong analytical capabilities and curiosity
• Must be able to travel up to 80%
