Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Fredericton or Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
Type: Permanent F/T

Our client is a highly successful network security management company, with
approximately 70 employees located in bot the United States and Canada. They
are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer-Linux Kernel Expert to join
their management team, to be based in either Fredericton or Saint John, New
Brunswick, Canada.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise and
significant Linux kernel experience, to this challenging development
environment, while working with an exceptional team of IT professionals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities include maintaining the Linux Kernel over the product life
cycle, updating core operating system RPMs, monitoring security vulnerabilities
of RedHat and Linux and reporting any security concerns to senior management,
updating other 3rd party RPMs, building kernel modules and ensuring the
operating system is secure and updated on an on-going basis.
Other experience includes advanced scripting knowledge (shell, perl), source
control, configuration and change management experience, system administration
with Linux or other flavors of Unix, C/C++ development knowledge, makefile
experience, understanding of RPM spec files, building RPMs from source files
and from source RPMs, VMware and experience patching kernel and resolving
conflicts.
