Senior Threat Researcher
The Senior Threat Researcher will be instrumental in analysis and research of
the latest and future threats. The Senior Threat Researcher needs to ensure
that Trend Micro is competitive and able to quickly/accurately analyze the
latest and future threats The Senior Threat Researcher will closely work with
Core technology, the solution PM Anti-Malware and will be a senior member of
the Trend Micro Incident Response Team
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
Improvement of processes and procedures
Design and implement data mining techniques/tools for the analysis ofx threats.
Consultant for Core Technology, PM NCCT/NCIT, PM Anti-Malware and TMIRT
Providing technical guidance and input for AV Leadership Team in PH and Senior
Virus Analysts.
Coworks with Chief Technologist and Solution PM on ways to address current and
future threats.
Adresses outbreaks and virus incidents – identify the unique
characteristics and work with Corp Threat marketing to create White Papers, PR
pitches, detailed Virus
24x7 on call requirements in case of virus outbreak/noteworthy malware incidents
This position requires frequent travel to Asia, US, EMEA
Improvement of Core AV Technology – Measured by Internal and External
Benchmarks as defined by the Enterprise segment.
Ability to react on latest threats without modifying core scanengine technology
Number of press releases and editorials which mention Trend Micro as a thought
leader in the AV industry Adaption of new technologies, methods to combat
malware – Staff feedback from the AV and TMIRT team.
Minimum of 5 years experience as virus analyst/consultant for a leading AV
vendor
Known as an expert within the AV community (frequent attendence of virus
bulleting conference, known in the “industry”, already has written
thesis papers on malware)
Worked as a project manager to improve processes how to handle, process,
analyse malware samples
Expert on reverse engineering
Able to use IDA Pro to do static disassembly
Desirable skills:
Familiar with assembly language
Able to use assembly level debugger, such as Windbg or Softice
Programming skills in C, Windows SDK
Familiar (preferable developed parts of it) with scan engines and underlying
technology
Very Knowledgeable on all important operation systems and able to identify
their vulnerabilities (Windows, Unix, Linux)
Team orientated but with the ability to work with minimum supervision
Fluent written and spoken English
