Senior Security Engineer
Job Overview:
Looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join the Security Engineering
team. The Security Engineering group has responsibility for all aspects of
securing all information and information systems assets of the company
infrastructure to meet the Corporate business and technical needs. We
don’t just identify security issues; we solve them in innovative and
business-focused ways. This is an engineering-focused position. A successful
candidate must possess broad knowledge of information security practices,
concepts, methodologies and technologies and will be responsible for
researching, designing, implementing, testing, supporting and documenting
systems and network security infrastructure.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for extraction, correlation, and management of potentially
large data sets from a variety of appliances, servers, and databases via API
interfaces to mine security and operational availability data
• Using web and database tools to create online scorecard, alerting, and
tracking data to be presented for operational monitoring, trending, and key
management decision-makers
• Integrates new security technologies into a complex IT infrastructure
• Backline security incident response
• Escalates support for operational issues, and effective communications
with the operations team
• Evaluates new products and technologies to best address company
security needs
• Acts as a Security Engineering resource to be assigned as part of
multiple project teams to help integrate and launch non-security projects in a
tightly managed process
• Reviews of company-wide projects and change controls to ensure security
best practices are followed.
• Meeting with internal and external auditors and regulators to provide
support for audit activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
• Must have 3 to 5 progressive experience working in designing and
managing IT security systems in a large, diverse enterprise, and a solid
understanding of e-commerce architecture.
• Strong scripting and programming skills required, using Python, Perl,
Korn shell, and SQL. PHP, XML, and Expect. Web development skills with Apache
and integration with MYSQL a plus.
• Solid understanding of centralized logging and Security Event
Management, scanning, baselining, remote access, wireless security, VPN,
SecurID, and other security applications.
• Must have a broad knowledge of applications utilized for email,
directory services, web, SSL, PKI, and encryption.
• Familiar with open source tools and methods, authentication, access
control, intrusion detection, and audit.
• Experience with security technologies, policies, and procedures.
• Bachelor’s Degree in CIS/CS is preferred.
• CISSP and other Security Certifications desired.
Additional Skills:
• Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge is a plus.
• Strong familiarity with data manipulation and analysis of large data
sets is essential.
• Ability to communicate summary and trending information derived from
large data sets to decision-makers.
• Must be able to regularly exercise a diverse set of technical and
security skills, the ability to quickly adapt to and learn unfamiliar
technologies, and the discipline to follow process in a tightly regulated
environment.
• Experience in regularly interfacing with offshore operations staff is a
plus.
• Ability to work within a team, and to coordinate effectively with other
technical and business teams to solve problems or shepherd complex projects
through to completion and launch is critical.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and problem solving
skills.
