Position: Security Engineer
Location: New York, New York, United States

Globla Media company in NYC is looking for a Sr. Security Engineer with a focus
on CheckPoint firewalls. The candidate, who will be part of the Global Network
Design and Architecture team, will be primarily responsibility for design and
architecture of the firewall system. The candidate is expected to be a subject
matter expert on firewall technologies centered on Checkpoint products and will
provide Level 3 support. Involvement in other security related technologies
and network operations will also be required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
" Design, architect and provide Support of the entire firewall environment
" Advise on upgrades, overall system design, and new technologies for
CheckPoint products
" Use network sniffers such as Ethereal to solve complex problems
" Conduct firewall policy reviews and document best practices
" Support the operations team with any issues related to the global
firewall system
" Create detailed documentation regarding the operation of configuration
of the firewall system
" Design and maintain application firewall and proxy environment; advice
on upgrades, overall system design and new technologies in this area
" Assist in the management of Firemon and other related tools
" Understand VLANS, ACLs, and other restrictive network components for
design of internal network segments
" Maintain detailed knowledge of company network standards and the
overall local, regional and global network environments
" Provide guidance on how to achieve SOX compliance on the firewall system
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must Have Strong Knowledge In:
" Checkpoint firewalls technologies (3+ years); SPLAT, Provider 1,
Eventia Reporter, Smartdefense, Secure Client.
" Checkpoint large scale environments
" Linux experience
" Advanced Ethernet and TCP/IP
" RSA SecureID technology
" Firemon desired but not required
" IDS/IPS products desired but not required
In addition, candidate must possess the following
" Experience with larger enterprise environments 100+ firewalls desired
but not required
" Strong discipline of testing of hotfixes, and patches prior to
installing in production environment
" Excellent customer communication skills
" Flexible schedule to accommodate for travel to other locations for IT
staff meetings, training and/or assist with projects
" Ability to test and introduce new utilities to help the environment
" Ability to multi-task and prioritize work for self and/or small team
independently
" Ability to resolve complex problems seeking guidance when necessary
" Be able to travel internationally and hold a valid passport
CERTIFICATION / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
" BS in (EE/CS) or equivalent
Desired:
CheckPoint CCSE
" Cisco CCNA
" CISSP
" GIAC certifications
" Netscaller experience
