Position Description:
This position is responsible for operational support of C.H. Robinson’s 
firewall activity.  In addition, WAN responsibilities may include the 
assessment, design, recommendation, implementation, and ongoing support of the 
hardware and software required for Local and Wide Area Network connectivity. 
Provides support and problem resolution as required on most firewall and some 
network related issues. Develops, implements, and maintains detailed plans and 
processes required for C.H. Robinson’ s network. Ensures that all 
processes and topologies are documented, and communicated to the appropriate IT 
personnel.  
    
Responsibilities:
Firewall tasks: 
-  Upgrade Cisco PIX software images 
-  Configure inbound and outbound access through the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure multiple interfaces on the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure the PIX Firewall to send messages to a syslog server 
-  Perform password recovery 
-  Configure access control and content filtering on the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure special protocol handling on the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure attack guards and SSH 
-  Configure AAA on the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure and test failover using the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure the IDS feature set 
-  Configure a site-to-site VPN utilizing the PIX Firewall 
-  Configure a VPN Client-to-PIX Firewall VPN 
-  Install PIX Device Manager and use it to configure the PIX Firewall 
-  Test and verify PIX Firewall operations 
-  Configure Cisco IOS Firewall Context-based Access Control 
            
WAN tasks: 
-  Provide design, implementation, and support functions for the C.H. Robinson 
wide area network including, but not limited to: 
-  LAN / WAN Network design and support 
-  Internet connectivity design and support 
-  Design, selection, implementation, and support of monitoring tools required 
to facilitate high availability of the network 
-  Ongoing support of the network 
-  Vendor management as necessary 
-  Maintain documentation of processes, topologies, and system design 
-  On-call duty as required 


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Required Qualifications  
-  Ten years of IT experience 
-  Required:  Five years of PIX firewall experience 
-  Cisco hardware; Experience with disaster recovery environments 
-  Demonstrated expertise in a variety of information technology concepts, 
practices, and procedures 
-  Strong DNS /BIND experience 
-  Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven track 
record of effectively delivering results in a fast paced, flexible environment 
while managing multiple priorities. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.  
 
Preferred Qualifications  
-  Five years experience in the management of a multi node network environment 
(preferred experience in broadband, DS3, T-1, OC12) 
-  802.1X background desirable 
-  VOIP background desirable 
-  Unix background desirable  
    
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree or technical work experience.  CCNP or CCDP required. 
Microsoft certifications are beneficial.
