Salary: c. £65,000 (dependant upon experience)
Due to speed of recruitment need and interview process candidates must be UK
based. EU nationals without HSMP visa will not be considered for this role as
the client does not offer sponsorship.
In charge of the technical development team, you’ll bring previous
experience in leading small to medium-sized web development teams and strong
technical architecture skills combined with excellent knowledge of Java,
Tomcat, MySQL and Linux to the role, together with sound experience in HTML.
You’ll be expected to lead the re-engineering of current systems to
support new sectors, internationalisation and increased server load as the
company grows.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Specifically:
Advise on, and implement, performance improving strategies to XXX websites,
including java, mysql and server platform based solutions
Lead the development team in defining and improving development/deployment
cycle, eg:
• Technical architecture and implementation
• Testing strategies
• Improving development processes, eg addition of integration server as
step before test server
• Working with development team to develop new features on XXX websites,
including:
• user interfaces, business logic and databases
• member, support and administrative facilities
• technical implementation of business processes
• search engine optimization
• affiliate marketing processes and integration
• 3rd party system integration, including
 credit card processing
 emails and SMS messages
• system analysis, including
 web page request analysis
 commercial performance and accounting feeds
 support agent activity
 marketing channel effectiveness
• testing and deployment
Interest in the following/ or to learn
Advise on, and implement, data security - including:
• data encryption
• hardware security measures (e.g. firewalls)
• software security measures (e.g. antivirus)
• antivirus / anti-hacker / DoS measures
Other technologies used: CSS, Javascript, IntelliJ IDEA, Linux System
Administration, XML, XHTML, CVS, JUnit, Tomcat, Servlets, JDBC, Mobile
technologies.
